Best Security Agency in Mumbai: A 12-Point Scorecard to Compare Agencies
Lists of the 'top security agencies in Mumbai' are usually paid placements. A better method is to score each agency yourself against the same checklist. This 12-point scorecard works for housing societies, offices, hotels and industrial sites, and you can use it on NTR Security Services as well.
Score every agency from 0 to 2 on each point: 0 means no evidence, 1 means partly shown, 2 means shown in writing. The agency with the highest total that also passes the first three points is a strong candidate.
The 12 points
| # | Check | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Valid PSARA licence | Current licence in the agency's legal name, covering Mumbai. See how to verify it. |
| 2 | EPF and ESIC | Registration and recent contribution proof for your guards. |
| 3 | Police verification | Verification papers for every guard assigned to you. |
| 4 | Training | Induction training and post-specific briefing; certificates on request. |
| 5 | Written post plan | Posts, shifts, duties and escalation set out before you sign. |
| 6 | Supervision | Field officer visits on a fixed schedule, with a visit log. |
| 7 | Operations desk | A phone number answered round the clock, with attendance tracking. |
| 8 | Replacement time | A stated time to replace an absent guard, written in the contract. |
| 9 | Reporting | Incident logs and a monthly review you can read in ten minutes. |
| 10 | Quote transparency | Line-item quote showing wages, statutory contributions, relievers, supervision and fees. See how quotes are built. |
| 11 | Contract terms | Fair notice period, liability and termination clauses, no hidden fees. |
| 12 | References and sector fit | Contactable references in your type of site (society, office, hospital, factory). |
How to use the scorecard
- Shortlist three agencies.
- Ask each for the same documents and a line-item quote after a site survey.
- Score each point 0, 1 or 2. Do not give credit for promises that are not in writing.
- Reject any agency that scores 0 on points 1 to 3.
- Call two references per finalist.
If you manage a housing society, see security for housing societies. For offices see security for corporate offices.
Common mistakes when choosing
- Choosing on price alone, without checking the relievers and statutory costs.
- Accepting a licence copy without checking the name and area.
- Trusting online rankings that are paid placements.
- Skipping the site survey, so the post plan does not match the site.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find the best security agency in Mumbai?
Shortlist three licensed agencies, ask each for the same documents and a line-item quote after a site survey, and score them on a common checklist such as the one above.
Are 'top 10 security agencies in Mumbai' lists reliable?
Many are paid or unverified. Use them only to find names to check, then verify licence, compliance and references yourself.
What matters most when comparing agencies?
A valid licence, EPF and ESIC compliance and police verification come first. After that, supervision, replacement time and a transparent quote decide how reliable the service will be.
Should a housing society use a different checklist from an office?
The core checks are the same. A society should also weigh gate and visitor-management experience and festival-season planning, and an office should weigh reception conduct and access control.
